Commercial Litigation
Representing Plaintiffs and Defendants in Commercial Litigation in State and Federal Courts represents a significant portion of Mr. Jaffee's practice. Mr. Jaffee has frequently represented parties in real estate litigation including quiet title actions and specific performance suits. Additionally, he has litigated lawsuits against and on behalf or corporations and has frequently been involved in breach of contract litigation.
Being a skilled advocate allows Charles Jaffee to take full advantage of the Discovery Process. Having questioned numerous witnesses at trial has made him very proficient in taking the depositions of witnesses, particularly the deposition of the adverse party. Mr. Jaffee prepares a case as if it is going to trial, but he takes mediation very seriously and it is not uncommon that cases are settled at that stage of the case. Often times Mr. Jaffee will recommend that his client settle a case if he believes that it is in the best interest of the client. He will do this even if it would be financially advantageous to Mr. Jaffee to see the case continue.
